Dawn in the land of Germania. "De koning! Ik breng bericht uit het westen!" a strange man stand shouting for the gates of Bearns... "What is it, what you want, stranger?" a guard said "I cannot understand your words." he added. "Wat?" The strange man answered. "Ik versta er niks van..." "Err...get a translator, else we'll be standing here untill midnight." the guard asked to one of his comrades.
The translator came and stood above the gate, asking: "What is it that you want, foreigner?" "Wat?" the stranger replied. The translator thought, and then said: "This language is familiar to me. This man belongs to the Frisii, from the west. Let him in."
The gate opened and the Frisian man walked in. The translator made a sign, so the stranger followed him. "Sit heer" the translator tried, putting up his best Frisian word. "Zit hier?" the Frisian said. "Mhm..." the translator nodded. In rune-signs the translator drew a text. This text told the Frisian stranger that he must learn the Bearns language. The stranger read the sign and said... "Okay".
"Give this man a bed in the Inn!" the translator said. And tell the King, a messenger has came.

Then the princess enter, sister to the King. Her name was Catriona often called Cat. She was told of the stranger and then walked over to the table he sat with the translator. "Who are you? And state your business here," she commanded lightly, not in a mean way. As she spoke, she sat in a chair in front of him, awaiting his answer.

With the help of the translator, the stranger could make his story: "My name is Thrymr and I am here, my Lady, because I fear of the faith of my people. We lived in peace with the tribe to the south, the Batavians, I don't know why, but suddenly they went mad and starting to attack our people!" Thrymr said, gasping for air. "My colonne was making his standard patrol across the northern side of the Rhine. Suddenly we were attack by a Batavian horde... We were outnumbered. I command my men to fall back, but it was too late, almost all of my men were slain in front of my eyes. With a couple of soldiers I made my way to the capital of my home, Tribus Frisii, and I told the Jarl (chief) what happened... My Jarl told me that he could only held the Batavian raiders for a couple of days. He asked me to seek help in neighbouring tribes, so the way led me here, my Lady. And I am asking you to send troops and to crush the Batavian attack." Thrymr was sweating all around. He continued: "My wife... my wife and child are still there. Will you help us?"
