New Carthage who were built upon Iberian land, ruled the southern territory of the Celtibarians. Three major cities it had, as important it were for military training. It also was the main stronghold who mostly kept the armies ready in case of use, like the capital itself it had the same culture but with greater trained troops. The city who laid closest Africa was called Gades, it was an important harbor for warships and trade. Around 500 BCE, the city fell under the sway of Carthage. More northern east laid Cartagena and Sarguntom, as well the Balearic islands. These regions were mostly used as main training ground, but also stronghold in case enemy would attack.
