The main defence of the Slavic Lands is the temperature; if an invading army does not come prepared, the cold weather can easily kill half the army. The forests are also good defence, as an invader would find it hard to move an entire army through a forest. There are also mountains that form a natural boundry to enemies and rivers that, while in winter freeze over and can be crossed, in summer form a barrier to armies.
One of the best defences is that there are very few permanent settlements. The Capital is the only well defended one, it has a stone wall around it whereas every other one has a wooden wall. However, because of the speed and mobility of the Slavic army, any invading army can generally be stopped in an open battle before a siege ensues.
