"To each his own, or her in our case," she smiled and took a seat at a table with her. Then a service girl came to them asking for drink orders and handing them a list of dishes, there wasn't much, it was just a casual pub but there were saladas. Catriona orded a red wine and a steak. She also had a glass of water and steamed vegetables. The servant girl nodded and then she turned to Narne, "And for you m'am?" She asked curiously as she finished writing Cat's order and then she readied to write down Narne's.

“True True,” Narne acknowledged. Her blue eyes circled the room, and noticed every little aspect within it. She was slightly a perfectionist, when it came to picking up every detail and she was constantly doing so. It must come with that tracking nature of hers.
What Catriona spoke was indeed true. It was human rights to have their own opinion, and she’d enforce them upon herself. Narne patiently waited for the servant girl to take Catriona’s order, before she contentedly stated that she would not mind a clean salad and fresh water. It was interesting to see the girl reaction, yet she barely showed one, except one of tiredness and over-working. The tavern was quite busy tonight, and Narne knew what it was like to work within one.
Hectic and Chaotic.

"So tell me, why did you decide to come back?" Catriona asked Narne curiously. Had she just up and left everything as this woman had, she wasn't sure if she'd ever have the guts to return to that place.

Narne looked at Catriona, who asked her straight out why she had returned. Usually Narne would shrug, and walk away because she knew her life was hers and she could do with it as she pleased. She didn’t have to tell anyone if she didn’t want too. However, Cat was Narne’s close friend’s sister and she supposed that Catriona deserved the knowledge of why she had left in the first place.
“Before I state what brought me here, I should perhaps alert you on the matter in which made me leave in the first place,” Narne said, as a tavern maid brought her over a glass of water. Narne picked it up and took a quick sip from it before she returned to the statement, “You see when I left, it was not of my wishing. My mother intended we move on. Oh, I did disagree for this was mm home. At least I thought it was. However, my mother simply said we were leaving and I barely had time to alert my friend’s upon my departure. We left the next day, in such a haste and to this day I do not truly know what motivated my mother. However, I have come to the conclusion that she knew she was dying, and she wished to die in a certain place.”
Narne took a deep breath. As much as it didn’t show, she was still cut up on the inside about her mother’s death. After all, her mother had really been everything to Narne for she did not know her Father, “It took me awhile to return, for many reasons. For now, I simply go where my feet lead me because I see no point in settling down in one place when there is a whole entire world to see.”

She nodded, "It explains alot," she said and she saw the look in her eyes and she knew she missed her mother. She took Narne's hand and smiled, "Well you will always have a home here. My brother undoubtly still loves you, you are a dear friend to him," she said and then she sipped her wine. "With our family, you were closest to his age and I know you guys were close, even if I was only four, or whatever. I am sorry you had to leave but I can see that it was not all bad for you. Sometimes I wish I could go visit other places but in my heart, I know I love me home, I'm not sure if I could ever leave. I say that not out of duty, but I just feel a connection here, just something no other place can give me," she told Narne.

Narne smiled contently when Catriona reached for her hand and stated that she always had a home here. She must have sensed something in Narne’s voice, which was rare. Not many could tell whether Narne was still pained by her mother’s death. However, this girl whom had only knew Narne for a short period of time was still able to offer some sort of comfort and hope, “Your brother was a good friend to me, and I shall always love your family like they were my own,” Narne assured her. There was some hesitation noted in Narne’s voice as she spoke of family, however she kept that at bay and continued to keep a firm smile upon her face. It was awkward for her, for Narne had not been close to people for many years now, and to have someone she had only known from her childhood for a small amount of time say there was still a home here for her, and practically offer the token of friendship and closeness alike was indeed awkward for her.
Breaking away from the subject Narne pleasantly thought of the things that her travels had connected her too, “Who ever said you have to leave?” Narne asked rhetorically, “Your heart will always be here, and you can always return. There is a whole wide world out there, with so many new and exciting things to experience. To travel, your are not giving up your connection to one place, you are experiencing what life has to offer and creating many many more connections. For life is short, and we can only see so much in our lifetime, until age takes hold of us and we are bidden to our beds for the remainder of our fragile lives,” Narne jested with a laugh.
She looked at Catriona, “Before my mother died, she taught me that travelling was a way to embrace everything that surrounded me. That I would not only have one bond but many, which would benefit me a great deal. Alas, it did. For now I am skilled in many areas. I am a healer, a smithy, a tracker, an entertainer, a Lady of sword and shield and a retired Captain in many places. I have diplomatic immunity in many countries and I can speak many languages fluently, all because I have travelled and experienced what life can offer me. My heart does not belong to one place, but many. However, I will always feel that each place I travel through will always be able to offer me something different, something no-other can.”
“Do not let one connection, keep you in one place for your whole life. Remember that you are free to do as you will and that wherever you go, you can still return to the place where your heart is. That is what I believe my mother did. She travelled the world, until she could no more. When I was brought to the world, we travelled but not as much as she would have liked. Yet, still she returned to the place where she was born and there she died.”

"That may be so and perhaps one day I will but for now, I am content with living and plus, I have a duty here jus as my brother does. True I do not control what happens considering all he law making and so forth, but there ae many duties here I must take charg of and I can not fail them just to travel willy nilly," she told her honestly. She had no intent to be mean or cruel, she jsut spoke her mind plainly. Perhaps she was not all that good at saying what she meant but she was not a cruel person. Then their food came and Catriona gratefully accepted her plate and began to eat.

Narne nodded, “Duty is a very demanding task. I understand fully, for that principal I have mastered many times.”
To some it may have appeared as though Catriona was being quite pig-headed and stubborn to what Narne had stated, but Narne did not believe so. Everyone had their own opinion and everyone was different. The sooner that was realised the world may be a more comfortable place to live in. Narne took a bit to eat, and flushed it down with some water.
“There are some beautiful places out there, and I hope you see them. One piece of advice, do not let duty tie your life down, because when it gets hold of you it can encompass you until the point where you are no longer free to be yourself. Your only duty is to your heart.”

"That may be true but I live in the world of men. My duty is to my brother and any man whom marries. Do not get me wrong though, I do not let them control my life for that is mine and mine alone but I would do anything for my brother. Eadfearth has done more for me in my life than any other person. Especially since our mother passed and my father was not overly concerned about his daughter. The only thing he cared about was his strong sons and how I should 'act like a lady.'" Catriona explained to Narne. In a way, it made her stronger as she had always refused to listen to her father, it gave her a personality, it made her someone different. But her brother had always helped her and she would never forget that.

Narne nodded, and continued savouring the salad. She had to admit, it had quite an enjoyable taste. It had been better the many salads she had tried in many taverns. Being a Captain had never really given her the rewards that were thought of for such a high status. However, it bothered her not. She’d much prefer to make her own food half the time the have another prepare it for her. Poison was becoming quite popular, and she was aware of that having been close to eating something that was poisoned before. Instead a trusty comrade had taken a greedy mouthful and been struck down almost suddenly.
She knew what it was like to be disfavoured by men. Many thought women were inferior and un-able to complete such tasks. Narne had only known Eadfearth’s and Catriona’s father for a short time, and even then he had thought Narne herself was alien for intending to be more like men. Narne had not let the words of men corrupt her into the slave life of a woman, and had indeed proven herself to match many of them, even one of the most proficient warriors about. She had proved to men, that just because she was a woman, she was not incapable of what they were capable of.
“Men believe we are incapable of anything truly physical. But that is easily proven wrong when we are with child. I daresay no man would physically be capable of that. They‘d constantly be complaining. A man I served under a year or two back deeply disagreed with me being given the position by his master. His wife was with child and he constantly complained about her complaining…” she smiled, “… so I devised a plan to help him realise that us women were more capable of carrying weights around for months on end. I made a pouch and filled it with stones and told him to wear it for the day. He was a proud man, and thought the idea utterly ridiculous. However, my luck came about and he was placed into the dare by a few other men of his regent. So, he carried the pouch around all day. Returned to me complaining, and agreed that perhaps us women were more capable then he had thought. It changed his opinion on us, for awhile I suppose.”

Catriona could not help but laugh, "Men are not as strong as they believe but if you are a true woman, you can wrap them around your finger and control them like a marionette," she smiled and finished up her meal. "Will you be staying for a while?" Catriona asked her curiously before she took another sip of her drink.

Narne stomached as much of the food as she possibly could between their conversation. She may have spent her life in the company of men, but she was not a slob like many of them. She sat back in the seat, and smiled at Catriona’s words. It was true, women could easily dictate a man whether he believed it or not. Women were more stronger up there, then they were and it was proven in the way many Ladies were becoming educated, as well as the fact they could multitask. Men, were in a way as small as children. They could only carry one emotion at a time, that is why they were physically strong and well in battle. There whole mind and body was set on determined. Surely, with such determination they would be able to succeed and the result of death would just be he wasn’t as determined as other’s.
These were just a few things Narne had come to realise while spending quite a fraction of her time within their company and in between their converse, “A woman has many advantages. When she knows how to use them she can have all the power in the world if she wants it,” Narne said, before following the comment of Catriona, upon how long she planned to stay on here, “Well, I don’t usually plan what will happen. I don’t like the idea of waking up and knowing I have to move on that day. At the moment, I intend on staying a few weeks. I need to heavy my purse, so perhaps I will look for work. When I have enough coin, perhaps I shall move on,” she sat forward and placed a few coins on the table to pay for the food and drinks. She took up the last sip of her drink and smiled back at Catriona, “But then again, I’ll just take it as the days come.”
