Flavia lead Terion into where the records of Lesbos are taken and stored for further use and whenever someone needs them for reference. She motioned him to the mother of all books. She wasn't sure how well he'll understand it but it was worth a try for him to understand the culture of Lesbos.

Terion was still following Flavia when she entered the room full of books and scrolls. Terion looked around, knowing what this room was and what its purpose was. It was a history room, a room of records where all the accounts of history on this island and probably all the accounts of anything to do with Hera were also kept. Terion looked around and then she directed him to a certain book and Terion walked over to it, opening it and reading a few lines. Some of it was more difficult to read because it was an older version of the Greek language that Terion was not used to. Terion turned to Flavia and pointed to the book, "What does it say?" He asked, his language and speaking becoming a bit better.

Flavia smiled and looked at the scroll, "It explains the rights to women. Since women were the only occupants of Lesbos at first, all the rules only concerned women, but of course there is a need for men, so there are more updated rules that include, what men can do, and not do...basically limiting their power, for one, men can not hold an offical office except if they are born of a woman who is...also a man can not be the governor...only women. So in the case of Prince Jason...he will not be govenor after the dear lady Circae dies...of natural causes of course. Circae will have to appoint a successor, usually the general, or the next office below that" She forgot that he didn't really understand her...but he seemed to have gotten better, and was sure she would have to repeat what she just said more simply, but waited for him.

Terion didn't understand half of what she had just told him but he just smiled and nodded as if he knew exactly what she was saying and had no problem understanding. He did catch a few words and understood that women had a higher standing in Lesbos than men did and he also understood that men could not become the ruler of the country. Well that was what he knew already. Either way, he just smiled and acted like he knew what was going on and once she had stopped talking he spoke, "Yes, i see. So.." he paused, trying to remember the dialect, "Women here, do what men do in any other country?" Terion asked, not sure if he got the word country right when he said it. Hopefully he wasn't off too much. He understood that men were needed in a society mate and all, but beyond that, he wondered if the women here could do everything else a man could do.

"Yes, basically." He didn't show how much he didn't understand, but as he only picked out a few phrases that she said, she was sure that he wanted to be smooth and act like he knew everything. "The only thing that we are definatly dependent on men is to mate and have daughters, and sons....but daughters are most beloved. Because they are the future of Lesbos." She wasn't sure how much he was catching, but hopefully as much that is needed to get the point accross. "Some women have affairs with each other...though its not as commonly recieved by other countries." Hse wasn't sure how well this would be accepted by Terion.

Women having affairs with women, well that was an interesting thought indeed. Terion would have to look into that a bit more thoroughly. In any case, he generally grasped the social stature of Lesbos at this point. He had been there for a while now and so he understood most of what was happening. Men were not frowned upon because of their obvious requirement for mating. In any case, he was more concerned with the priests and the gods and goddesses of the country. "So, tell me of Hera." Terion asked as he leaned against a shelf of scrolls and shelves.

It seemed that he had lots of questions so she pulled up two chairs that were against the wall, sat in on of them and motioned for him to sit and be comfortable. "Hera, well she is the Olympian queen of the gods, most supreme, but not as powerful as Zeus, which is unfortunate. She is the goddess of the home, love, and marriage, that is why she is worshiped here. The women need her to bless their homes, their children, and their life. But because of her characteristics the women on this island adore her and every house contains a statue for easy worshipping in the morning when they wake up and when they go to bed. In the afternoon they come to the Pasteum." She thought that that was a simple enough explaination...Terion seemd to get it,, kindof.

So Hera was the second in command of all the gods of Olympia. That was something that Terion understood. Hmm, well if she was second in command he wondered why everyone worshiped her instead of Zeus who was apparently the chief god. Terion nodded his head at what she said and then looked at Flavia for a moment. His eyes went to hers as he looked into hers, "So tell me, what do you do here?" Terion asked as he looked into her eyes. Terion wanted to know what Flavia did in the temple. He knew that she was a priest but she didn't yet tell her what kind of things she did. "Do you have sacrifices you hold? Any other rituals?" Terion asked.

Flavia kept her eyes on Terion "Yes i do. I preform sacrifices to the gods and goddesses. To honor them and make them happy so they bless all the people who reside in Lesbos. But also I help guide the government officials in the daily meetings that are held. Also i set dates for religious festivals and govern the all the other attendents that assist in the temples. Is there anything else you wish to know, before i ask the same questions to you?" She smiled and offered him a glass of wine.

Terion thought for a moment about anything that he could ask her about her routines or anything else that she did for the goddess. Nothing came to mind and apparently she was going to ask him about Thor. That was the god that he worshiped and in his mind it was the only god to be worshiped. However, he was coming to the conclusion that everyone worshiped the same god, they just had a different name and enbodiment of him. The Greeks had Zeus, just like all the other kingdoms had a head god. Either way, Terion didn't see too much difference. "Perhaps you can tell me of how some of your sacrificial processions go." Terion asked, wondering about who and what they sacrificed.

"Well it all depends on to whom the ritual is pertaining to. In the case of Hera we will make food and offer that to Hera, including grain, fruit, cakes in the shape of animals, and blood from the animals cooked for the communal feast. In some places pigs are sacrificed to her, paralleling rites of Demeter. Gift giving is also an important part, especially to children. This all usually happens in the last few days of the month of Mars." She wasn't sure if he could understand that all.... But she smiled!

Well Terion just nodded his head at the parts that he didn't understand. He nodded his head a few times because there were some parts he didn't understand. Either way, he got the gist of what she was saying. "Well, that is an interesting culture you have." Terion said, pausing for a moment, "I have a question however," Terion asked. "With so many woman in one place, men would probably be hard to come by. Do you force them into bed or do they coming willingly?" Terion had wondered this ever since he had heard about this backwards way of living. "I mean, you must jump on a man that comes here." Terion paused. "I have been here a while and have only found a few men here."

Flavia laughed, remembering all the affairs, ahh...good times, then she returned to the present topic at hand, she would finish the thinking later when she had time to think..." Well about the men, the only men that are usually here all time are the sons of the women here, so they grow up with having women tending to their needs, and as they grow older their needs change and so that's a cultural thing...but to outsiders that haven't grown up here...they usually come willingly, which is often. I guess that's our fault."
She took a sip of wine and leaned to the other side of him to grab something, rather provactively "..in answer to your comment on jumping on the men when they come...it's not everyday that we see an attractive man on our shore, so we do our best to seduce him to our beds with skill that we aquire through time by the priestess or by outside influences, though our interests are not only on the men. as they are hard to come by sometimes...if you know what i mean. You probably think this strange...what is the custom of having a lover in your country? Do the women their dress like we do or do they cover their skin with as much clothes as they can manage?"
She flipped her hair arrogently thinking of the stories she had heard about the women in the north covering every inch of their body...hardly seeming attractive to any man, or woman in that matter. She took the book that she grabbed and glanced at it and leaned over to put it on the ground.

Terion figured that most of the men that the women of Lesbos had came willingly. Terion had not seen a lot of unattractive women on this island and Flavia was certainly no exception at all. She probably had one of the better bodies he had seen and probably had one of the most beautiful face he had seen and her hair....wow, that was pretty much attractive in and of itself. Terion loved a woman's hair. Some of the cultures of the South required women to wear their hair in a cloth and Terion could never quite understand why. The women of Lesbos were much more open about their hair, and about pretty much all of their bodies. There gave men no reason to not be attracted to them. It was actually rather ingenious. Terion did wonder what became of the men once they had served their purpose in bed. He wondered if they were given to other women. As Flavia had said, man of good stock were hard to come by. Terion did see a reason from Flavia or any other woman to not try and take advantage. Such is human nature. Flavia moved past him and Terion's eyes wandered over her body for a moment. Terion was a man and would not openly resist his urges. Flavia asked him about his women. Ahh, he could speak of Ireland again....a joy to even mention her name. "Ah yes, Ireland," He paused, "Yes, or women do cover themselves, but that is strictly because our weather is far cooler than here and if they did not, they would freeze to death. No doubt that they have attractiveness without being unclothed. However, as a man i do enjoy seeing a bit more a woman without having to wed them." Terion admitted. Again, Terion was a man with urges. "But i find no problem with the women of my country." Terion concluded.

"Ah, the weather...Does the weather ever give chances for people there to dress without many clothes as usual? Or is it always cold?" She was done asking about the weather...she always found it drab to talk about the weather...it was really boring, much exciting things were to be disussed. "You mention about having to be wedded to the woman to see more then a face and hands...maybe a bare neck once in a while...Do you have affairs in your country? or is it against your home religon? or agianst your personal values? I guess my culture would not collide with yours very well." She smiled and brushed her hair from her face and glanced at him..."Well im glad you are contented with the women there...i deeply respect that..." He was very attractive but she didn't want to go overboard on what she said and did.
